2 out of 5 stars Xerox Fax Centre Failed After 250 Faxes   April 23, 2008
We owned the Xerox Fax Centre F110 for a little over 2 years. It worked great over that time -- it did everything we asked of it. But unfortunately, it totally crashed today. Now nothing works after just about 250 sends/receives over the entire time that we've owned it. FYI -- We've checked the phone line and power and they're fine. I called Xerox service and since it's out of their 90 day warranty period they wanted close to $300 just to send a technician out to tell us the machine no longer works. Our local Xerox-affiliated repair company told us that if we carried the machine into them it would probably cost close to $400 to repair (but not necessarily using Xerox parts). It just wasn't worth it. Our Xerox F110 was made in China and like most things made in China they don't last very long. We had thought that we would get at least 10 years of use out of it, but it never happened. Xerox charges close to $300 for a 2-year extended warranty which would lead one to believe that they're having a lot of failures with this particular machine -- otherwise why would they charge that much!
