3 out of 5 stars Good price for decent product   November 19, 2008
This tripod is fairly decent when compared to others in its price range. I was looking for something heavy with a decent head for smaller cameras, and this foot the bill. The head is very smooth when doing vertical movments, but a bit tight when panning. The only complaint would be the clamps for the legs. When I used it the first time, one of the clamps broke, when locking it. They are made of cheap pot metal. There are small adjustment screws you can use to make them tighter or looser, as this one was very tight. With a little JB weld, fixed the problem, easier then sending it back.

5 out of 5 stars all that I hoped for   October 15, 2008
This tripod is easy to use and does what it is supposed to do. My order was processed without a hitch. I am completely satisfied.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent hardware   September 27, 2008
This tri-pod is of amazing quality for 200$ Its construction is simpler than the 1000$ models I've used at school but its still sturdy and the head is great. I can execute insanely precise pans with it. Ive used it with my Panasonic PV-GS500 and my DVX100B and this baby definitely preforms with pretty much any grade of camera. Its absolutely a good deal.

5 out of 5 stars Double Handed   July 13, 2008
The dual grips make this tripod my favorite ever! Smooth. Really smooth and fun. Thanks Tiffen Davis and Sanford, I'm happy with my purchase. No more idle hands - now it's all about positive workshopping.
I give this tripod two thumbs up.

2 out of 5 stars Not a high-performing head   June 1, 2008

This is a review of the FM18 head only. The head appears well-built - all-metal and it feels substantial. However, the head moves slightly in one direction when the pan lock knob is tightened, ruining the shot. Spend $100 more (for a Bogen or a Gitzo) and get a much better result.
