Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The SLIK universal tripods are designed primarily for cameras and feature a number of exciting design concepts. The U 9000 is an upper grade model featuring rubber/spike leg tips, and bubble level. The retractable camera-positioning pin enables you to mount either a video, or a still camera on the Quick Release Platform. It also features simple vertical positioning for still cameras. Attaches easily onto still, and video cameras just align the quick shoe along the length of the camera body, and tighten with a coin. Engineering plastic assures smooth and quiet rack and pinion gear movement of the center column. Easy, and quick to operate leg locks let you adjust the tripod height in seconds. Oversize locks also let you make minor leveling adjustments without having to look away from the viewfinder. Exclusive anodized champagne bronze color legs are also designed to feel comfortable in the hand. Leg brace adds more stability to the legs, and resists torsion. It also incorporates the movement of all three legs. Just open or close one leg, and the rest will follow automatically.

5 out of 5 stars excellent value for money   November 13, 2008
I recently purchased this tripod and have to say that we are delighted with it's quality and versatility. For the price, I would not have expected an item of this standard - You can probably pay a ton more and end up less satisfied than we are.

Item was shipped with broken handle AND an invoice that claimed a tripod bag was in the box! RMA procedure by Amazon is very good.

4 out of 5 stars Great budget tripod   June 2, 2008

This tripod is great for anyone on a budget. Its construction, while not overly impressive, gives the sense that it won't tip over. Beyond that, it does what it's meant to do -- holds a camera steady and allows you as the photographer to make adjustments easily and with precision. The built-in level helps get things straight, while the adjustment knobs are easy to learn and work well for quick adjustments. I really can't ask for anything more for the price.

Simply put, if you don't want to spend over $100 on a tripod, this is the one to get.

5 out of 5 stars solid construction, great value   April 28, 2008

It's not a ball-joint but for the price it's quite good. Very stable, but perhaps not heavy enough if you are really looking for something professional. Build quality is quite satisfactory.

5 out of 5 stars Light but effective   April 10, 2008

This is a very good tripod. It's not quite as easy to use such as a VERY expensive tripod, but overall it's pretty easy to use. The only thing is, when you want to shoot in high angle and then switch to low angle, you have to release the camera and then put it back the other way. Other than that, it's stable, it has a quick release, and it looks and feels very professional.
